Great feedback and emails from the show on the 26th already! Erik sure is an inspiration by turning himself from a 300 lb fat guy into a world class competitor in TWO separate sports in less than a year's time! He lost 80 lbs of fat and gained 15 lbs of muscle in just 7 months at the X Gym. If he can do it, so can you!

Remember to try the audiobook "The Self Hypnosis Diet". This is a gem and will get your brain re-wiring job going in the right direction.

Remember that your subconscious mind is truly in control of your results. It will interpret everything your conscious mind says very literally and act on it whether your conscious mind believes it or not. If you say, "I'm not going to eat bad food today" it hears only the action phrase, "eat bad food today". This is why it is so important to phrase everything in the positive goal set. The correct phrasing would be to say, "I'm going to eat good food today".

Small steps are the best way to reach your PERMANENT goals. Just do a little better than you did yesterday. If you do this every day, you will succeed. If you fall off (and that is human), don't beat yourself up because that just wastes time and keeps you from getting back on the wagon! The sooner you put your mistakes behind you and get back on track, the sooner you will reach your goals.

Oh yeah - the recipes I discussed are all on the X Gym website at: xgym.com/hardbodcafe.htm. I just added Chuck's meat balls and my favorite crock pot recipe.
Enjoy!

Fun show today! I already had lots of requests for clarifications on some websites I mentioned. I will address them here starting with the most asked:
1. Pure, sterile, filtered bottleless water coolers for your business or workplace can be found at wetcoolers.com.
2. The powdered peanut butter can be ordered through through bellplantation.com.
3. Theo's chocolate nibs are in Freemont or at theochocolate.com.

Remember to drink your water! I am suggesting 3-5 quarts a day (3 for smaller adults and 5 for larger adults). I drink 4-5 quarts per day and partially attribute my low bodyfat levels (5-7%) to that. There are a few "experts"  who say all this water isn't necessary, but I haven't seen one yet who doesn't have at least 15 pounds or more they could stand to lose! Things that make you go Hmmmmm.......

Seriously, if I am wrong about this, the worst side effect  from my advice could be an increased number of trips to the bathroom. On the other hand, if they are wrong and you aren't getting enough water, the worst side effects could be the following:

can't lose the fat
sick more often
increased susceptibility to cancer and other serious diseases
wrinkly skin
unhealthy organs
low energy
poor mental clarity

And these are just a few! I could go on for pages, but you get the point. Just take your pick of side effects - my short list or their long list - and decide for yourself what's more "inconvenient."

As for fitness and fat loss, remember what the great Henry Ford said about attitude, "Whether you think you can or you can't, either way you are right."

Tune in next week for more research, ideas and fitness advice that actually works!

Yesterday's show was fun with a lot of info on training the brain and even some X Gym methods to try at home. I will have podcasts up soon so anyone can catch up on past shows if they missed them.

I update my radio page on the X Gym website Often so visit it for cheat sheets on stuff I talk about on the air at: http://www.xgym.com/Radio.htm.

I also post extra nuggets I stumble across on this blog like the following article about medicating the brain through exercise: http://corporatewellness.blogspot.com/2008/01/new-book-exercise-is-medicine.html so check back often!

Blog me back or email me at pj@xgym.com to let me know how you are doing or if you have any questions I can hep you with.

I really want to encourage everyone to start a biggest loser competition at work! It's a great way to share the fat loss experience with coworkers and bond over a common goal.

Listenership is growing so keep telling your friends about the show. We are 2 hours now from 8-10am every Saturday so keep tuning in for the "unfair advantage" and the best "shortcuts" to fat loss and fitness improvement!
